PRIVACY
What this site knows about you.
Very little. This site sets no cookies, keeps nothing about you in your browser, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other companies' servers: no fonts, no scripts, no embeds. The only personal data I receive is what you send me yourself, through the contact form or by email.

Visiting the site
To send you a page, the site's host has to see the address your request comes from (your IP address) and what your browser asks for. That is how every website works. The host is Netlify; what it logs, and for how long, is set out in its own privacy policy, linked below. I get no list of visitors from it and I keep none.
The links to LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok are plain links. Nothing is loaded from those companies until you follow one. The three demo sites under Work are part of this site: they set no cookies either, and their forms and carts are for show and send nothing anywhere.
The contact form
The form asks for four things: your name, your email address, a budget range and your message. When you press send:
- Netlify stores the submission in my account and checks it for spam. For that check it uses Akismet, a spam-filtering service. A hidden field that only automated senders fill in helps with the same job.
- Netlify emails me those four things. The email arrives in a Gmail mailbox.
- I read it and answer you.
If you write to contact@sunglintstudio.com instead, the domain's registrar, Porkbun, forwards your email to the same mailbox.
Why, and on what legal basis
I use what you send to answer you and, if you ask for one, to prepare a quote: steps taken at your request before a contract (Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR). Messages that are not project enquiries are handled on the basis of my legitimate interest in running a working inbox (Article 6(1)(f)): that means reading them once and deleting them. I do not use your details for marketing, and I do not sell or pass them on.
Who else handles it
- Netlify
- Netlify, Inc., 101 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA Hosts the site, stores form submissions and emails them to me. It acts on my instructions, as a processor. Netlify's privacy policy.
- Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland Provides the mailbox (Gmail) that enquiries arrive in. Google's privacy policy.
- Porkbun
- Porkbun LLC, 11575 SW Pacific Hwy PMB 40649, Tigard, OR 97223, USA Registrar of the domain; forwards email sent to contact@sunglintstudio.com. Porkbun's privacy policy.
- Anthropic
- Anthropic Ireland, Limited, 6th Floor, South Bank House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, D04 TR29, Ireland I work with Anthropic's assistant, Claude, and that includes reading enquiries and drafting replies with it, so the text of your message can pass through Anthropic's systems. Anthropic's privacy policy.
Netlify, Porkbun and the parent companies of Google and Anthropic are in the United States, so your data can be processed there. Netlify and Google state that they are certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework; Netlify, Porkbun and Anthropic state that they use the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long it is kept
- An enquiry that does not become a project is deleted 12 months after the last message, from Netlify's store of form submissions and from the mailbox.
- An enquiry that becomes a project is kept with that project's records for as long as the work, and the duties that come with it, such as keeping invoices, require.
- Sales pitches and spam are deleted when they are seen.
Your rights
You can ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to stop or limit what I do with it, or to hand it to you in a form you can take elsewhere. Write to contact@sunglintstudio.com from the address you used, and I will do it within one month. It costs nothing.
If you think I have handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live. In Slovenia that is the Information Commissioner (Informacijski pooblaščenec), Dunajska cesta 22, 1000 Ljubljana, ip-rs.si.
