CREDITS
What this site is built from.
The orbit on the front page is drawn from public data and open-source code. This page names every source, with its licence and the credit line its owner asks for. Everything is served from this site's own address: nothing is loaded from anyone else's servers.
Earth
The maps are NASA's, cut, resampled and compressed for this site. Each credit line is NASA's own wording, copied from the page that carries the data. NASA does not endorse this site, and no NASA emblem is used on it.
Day side
Blue Marble: Next Generation, the December base map.
Anyone using or republishing Blue Marble: Next Generation please credit “NASA Earth Observatory.”
City lights at night
Black Marble 2016, the greyscale map, and its 500 m tile over Europe for the pass over Ljubljana. The amber colour is added here.
NASA Earth Observatory images by Joshua Stevens, using Suomi NPP VIIRS data from Miguel Román, NASA GSFC.
Clouds
The Blue Marble cloud layer. No cloud was painted out or moved.
Image by Reto Stöckli (land surface, shallow water, clouds). Enhancements by Robert Simmon (ocean color, compositing, 3D globes, animation).
Relief
Land elevation, turned into the surface's slopes.
Imagery by Jesse Allen, NASA's Earth Observatory, using data from the General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans (GEBCO) produced by the British Oceanographic Data Centre.
Stars
The 9,096 stars of the Yale Bright Star Catalogue, each at its catalogued place, brightness and colour, as packaged by the atmosphere library named below.
The Bright Star Catalogue, 5th Revised Ed. (Preliminary Version). Hoffleit D., Warren Jr W.H. Astronomical Data Center, NSSDC/ADC (1991).
The spacecraft
AS-01 is this studio's own design, modelled and textured by script in Blender. It is not a real vehicle and copies none: no agency's or company's markings appear on it. The dish points at the ground stations of the European Space Agency's tracking network, at their public positions; the agency has no part in this site. The look of the Earth and of the craft was judged against NASA photographs, which are not reproduced here.

Both families are served from this site as subsets cut from the original files, under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

The noise that hides the steps of the atmosphere's ray march is this site's own, made with the void-and-cluster method (Robert Ulichney, 1993).
The demo sites
The three demos under Work are self-initiated concept builds for fictional brands. Each serves its own fonts from its own folder, as subsets under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, and smooth scrolling by Lenis.

Tools
None of these is served to you; they built what is. Blender, for the craft. KTX-Software, for the textures. glTF Transform and meshoptimizer, for the model. HarfBuzz, by way of subset-font, for the fonts. esbuild, for the libraries. Playwright and axe-core, for the tests.
